The Best Part of Waking Up

What is the best part of waking up?   To some it’s Folgers coffee.   To me, it’s the moment when you cut into a perfectly medium poached egg and its goodness spills out onto a thick chunk of rich dungeness crab – and that’s exactly what I got this morning at the legendary Salish Lodge.

Breakfast at the Salish Lodge is one of those quintessential Northwest experiences that any Seattle breakfast lover must try at some time in their life.  There is really nothing quite like sitting by a cozy fireplace in a beautiful lodge atop a 268 ft waterfall while sipping a french press and enjoying a gourmet breakfast.  It’s really like you’re in a different world, but only 30 minutes from Seattle.

For breakfast I ordered the Poached Eggs Dungeness which featured chunks of fresh rich crab meat sitting atop a toasted brioche with two perfectly poached eggs and a rich bearnaise sauce.

The best part of waking up every morning, is walking into my kids rooms and seeing there beautiful smiles on there faces! They are so happy and ready to start a new day! I love to drink my coffee around 3 in the afternoon :)
